1631: The Irish village of Baltimore is attacked by Algerian pirates. Most of the townsfolk are unharmed as they were safely attending an AA meeting in the next county.
1685: James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth declares himself King of England at Bridgwater. Mrs. Scott is still not impressed and insists he continue taking out the garbage.
1840: Samuel Morse receives the patent for the telegraph... paving the way for huge profits through his new Morse Code Porn Service.
